School: Waupun Jr./Sr. High School
With seven years of experience in education—three of them at Waupun Jr./Sr. High School—Pat Bennett serves as a Special Education Paraprofessional in the Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Department. Originally from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Pat has made it his mission to bring the benefits of esports to students in his community.
“I’ve enjoyed building my program from the initial idea to where we are today,” Pat shares. Becoming Wisconsin’s first Super Coach is a milestone he hopes will inspire other schools in the state to launch their own esports programs. “I’m looking forward to networking with schools who might be on the fence about esports and guiding them through the process.”
Pat’s favorite part of esports is witnessing the growth and passion his students show for the games they play. “I absolutely love watching my students grow socially amongst their peers,” he says, noting how younger students gain confidence and feel empowered to connect with older club members.
Beyond the esports arena, Pat has a unique personal story: he and his wife were married at the Milwaukee Brewers stadium, a testament to their shared love of sports and community.
